DYNASTY - is an amalgamation of Finnish bands; The Rasmus, Killer and Kwan. It was founded in 1999 and signifies friendship and allegiance between the three bands and their members. Many members carry the tattoo or wear the Dynasty logo on guitar straps et cetera.
The bands have often worked together in music. Aki from The Rasmus has drummed for both Killer and Kwan and features in Kwan's video for 'Padam'. Killer is co-managed and co-produced by Lauri and Pauli from The Rasmus, and Pauli has also worked as a producer for Kwan on 'Chillin At The Grotto'.
Dynasty have performed two songs together -'Chillin At The Grotto' (Kwan featuring Lauri and Siiri from Killer) and 'All I Want' (Killer featuring Lauri).

Pauli asked his friends Mariko and Tidjan who had been contemplating making a band of their own to join. Mari and Tidjan had met previously doing musical theatre. Tidjan introduced his friend Amara to the band, Kusti became the bassist after being impressed by the band's live performance. Tatu joined early on when the band were producing a demo, and current drummer Risto joined when Aki Hakala left to join The Rasmus. Their debut album “Dynasty” went platinum in Finland and the single “Padam” did extremely well in the music and video charts - reaching the Top 3. The singles continued to be released, and it was with a clutch of Finnish grammies in their hands that Kwan reached the top spot and sold gold with the single “Late”. With the second album saw the releases of “Rain”, “Shine” and “Chillin' at the Grotto” - all of which earned gold sales and earned Kwan another EMMA. Hopes are high for the latest album which Tidjan explains is more a collection of thoughts and words than songs. He had described how Pauli told the band members to write down poems of their thoughts, and these were gradually adapted to create songs. The result is a darker and more impressive album than Kwan have ever before created. A bright future seems to be in store for the band who recreated Finnish hip-hop, and with more and more fans every day their story seems only to be beginning.    |

Albums 1 - “Sickeningly Pretty and Unpleasantly Vain”, 2002 Album 2 - “Sure You Know How to Drive This Thing”, 2003 Biography: Killer are composed of Siiri, Timo, Tumppi and Teijo. Originally Tumppi was the drummer and Siiri the guitarist (Siiri also plays piano), however with the entry of Teijo into the band the positions changed and the line-up with which we are familiar was born. Siiri had been a childhood actress with her first role in the 1988 tv-film “Onnea Matkaan” (Have a Good Trip) as Vilkku. Her brother is Finnish actor Reino Nordin, whose 2003 film “Hymypoika” (aka “Young Gods”) featured Killer's hit-single “Watching Waiting”. It was through Reino that the first connection between Killer and Dynasty can be made - he featured in “Siamin Tytöt” alongside The Rasmus's future drummer Aki Hakala. All members have interests outside of Killer, and they have been exploring these to the full in their current break. Siiri has taken a course in ship-building, Timo and Teijo are reported to have started their own band and Tuomas is rumoured to have joined an electro-band. Hopefully we might hear more from them in the future, until then Timo will be gracing the stage in Kiev this May for the 50th annual Eurovision Song Contest - alongside his old friend Aki from The Rasmus. The guys will be part of the band representing Russia this year.    |
